We are deeply saddened by the news regarding the collapsing of the Key Bridge in Baltimore. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic event; we extend our heartfelt sympathies to the families and loved ones of those involved and the first responders working tirelessly on the scene. This is a sad day for both our Baltimore and Maritime communities.  

 
LATEST NEWS AS OF 4/26/24: The US Coast Guard has announced that recreational boaters can ENTER and EXIT the Baltimore Harbor Sunday, April 28th.  

 

Traffic will be one-way at a time during two periods: on Sunday, April 21st, OUTBOUND transits will be permitted in the afternoon from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, and INBOUND transits will be permitted from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

The Unified Command or Captain of the Port may cancel this opportunity at any time for safety reasons. Boaters who access the channel during this time should use VHF Channel 16 and 81A while transiting the area.

Are there alternative routes into and out of Baltimore Harbor?

Unfortunately, there are no alternative routes for boat traffic to enter or exit Baltimore Harbor due to the Key Bridge incident. The USCG has a 2,000-yard safety zone for the surrounding waters and mariners are urged to avoid the area. We will continue to seek and monitor updates, communicating any changes as they become available. There is an active search and rescue prioritized over any other updates.

How long will access to Baltimore Harbor be impacted?

The duration of harbor inaccessibility is currently unknown. We are in close contact with local authorities and will provide updates as soon as we have more information. 

What alternative marinas exist for transient boaters?

I’m an annual/seasonal slip holder for an Oasis marina within Baltimore Harbor, will I still be accommodated?

It is too early to fully understand the impact of today’s incident; as a result we are not making any decisions about annual and seasonal slip contracts at this time. We understand each of our slip holders may have unique concerns and needs and our priority is to navigate these challenges together, with your best interests at heart.
